The Palestinian city of Nablus is situated in the West Bank, approximately 40 miles north of Jerusalem. It is an ancient city with a 4,000 year old history. It was first established as a city by the Canaanites. Over the centuries its inhabitants lived under the rule of numerous empires including the Ottoman, Byzantine and even the Crusaders.
