Answer: The word cardiomyopathy is used to describe any disease that affects the heart muscle. However, the word doesn't really describe any specific form of heart muscle disease.
Some examples of specific cardiomyopathies include, extrinsic, intrinsic, restrictive intrinsic and obstructive, among many others.
