There are many fine bed and breakfast places in all parts of the UK with accommodation at prices to suit every pocket.
These offer great value for money, often better than any other form of accommodation.
Bed and Breakfast removes the hassle of having to worry about providing meals for the start of each days breakfast which is, by definition, part of the package.
Additional evening meals are available in many of these properties for a reasonable addition sum and you can choose whether to eat in or go out for a meal.
For a weeks stay in a Bed and Breakfast, especially if there are just two of you, you can very often get a higher standard of accommodation for a lower overall price than the self catering alternative with a lot less worry about cooking, cleaning and general hassle, leaving you free to plan your holiday time.
Although Bed and Breakfast is traditionally seen as being a room in the owners house, this can be misleading now.
There are many types of property that offer a bed and a breakfast package from Guest house to hotels and even, in one case we know of, a narrow boat.
We recently stayed at a bed and breakfast in Suffolk where the accommodation was in a small barn conversion that offered an entrance lobby, a beautifully equipped bathroom and a large bedroom/living area, all furnished to a very high quality and completely self contained.
Although not officially graded, I would have put this in the four star category.
A full English breakfast was served at the owners house, in the conservatory, and was enough to set us up for the day.
The entire weeks accommodation cost us less than £400.
A lot less than we would have spent on self catering for a week in the same area at an equivalent standard of accommodation.
