Buck - I found out about this campground through word-of-mouth, and I RV camped there in June 2005.

Campground Review

Golden Beach is located in New York's Adirondack Mountains on Raquette Lake in Hamilton County. Its name says it all, and many of the lakeside campsites offer access to your own private beach. The lake awaits the angler, paddler, swimmer, and boater alike with hiking, dining, and shopping opportunities nearby.

Raquette Lake is one of the regions most historic lakes as it was epitomized in William H.H. Murray's 1869 novel "Adventures in the Wilderness" or "Camp Life in the Adirondacks." Most NYS DEC campgrounds have wooded and spacious sites in comparison to private entities that seem to pack them in. This is one of the finer ones.
