- Tilt your head with the ear with the water stuck in it toward your shoulder. Pull down on the earlobe of your clogged ear to release the water. You should be able to feel the water come out of your ear.
- Another way to get water out of your ear is by slightly tapping your temple with your wrist. Tilt your head with the ear with water stuck in it toward your shoulder and slightly use an open palm to tap your temple close to your other ear. You should feel the water come out of your ear.
- You can remove water from your ear using 70 percent isopropyl rubbing alcohol or a mixture of 1/2 rubbing alcohol and 1/2 white vinegar. You must use a dropper to drop several drops of the alcohol in the clogged ear. Once you're done applying the alcohol, turn your head the opposite way, and you should feel the water come out.
- Sometimes, simply laying your head on a pillow can remove water from your ear. Lie on your side with the clogged ear on the pillow, and, after a few minutes, you should feel the water start to come out.
- Hopping with your head tilted and the clogged ear facing the ground can also help to remove trapped water. You can do this until the water comes out, but make sure you're not on a slippery surface or you may injure yourself.
- Flushing water out of your ear involves adding more water inside your ear. Ask someone to help you by pouring a small amount of warm water into the ear that isn't clogged. Then quickly tilt your head to the opposite side, and the water should come out.
- The plunging method involves sticking your finger inside your clogged ear while pushing and pulling rapidly to create a vacuum. Do this by tilting your head with the ear with the water stuck in it toward your shoulder. Repeat this process until the water comes out of your ear.
