HOH Shouldn"t Date Deaf?

Updated April 17, 2011.

We have been together for eighteen months now, and I have hung in there even at times when I was ready to give up because I was the one who had to stand up for us - he refused at times to take a stand, fearing rejection from the deaf community majority. Some ex-girlfriends who are also deaf objected loudly and with extensive sign, as if it were any of their business. They were 'comforted' by the rest of the deaf community, with the exception of a very few who signed that they should just get over it and mind their own business.

Further, they were told that they could not choose a companion for an ex-boyfriend.

I am now searching for a new deaf community that I could introduce my boyfriend to (if we last that long) and hopefully the prejudice factor will not exist there. We're taking a trip to D.C. to the Gaulludet University soon and I'll notice there too the temperature and environment."
