They're everywhere.
To find one all you need to do is search for a blog on your favourite subject.
After you've checked the comments on a few of the results you're guaranteed to find one along with Viagra adverts and all sorts of other spam.
I don't know about you but it really gets on my nerves.
I was on a forum for the X Factor, a popular UK talent competition on TV with Simon Cowell as one of the judges and there were so many of these spammy comments that it started a whole debate about them.
Why do they do this then, I mean, come on, surely you really can't get your hands on a free iPod Touch.
They're expensive and not the sort of thing given away through a spammy comment on a blog.
Right? Wrong.
Now I can't vouch for all of the spam you see but I can tell you that there are some genuine companies that offer a free iPod touch but of course, as always with something like this, there is a catch.
Well 2 really.
These companies are selling products and services (the legit ones anyway) that will benefit the consumer.
Anything from ringtones to Dr Seuss books.
Many of them are free trials with no commitment to buy but you do have to sign up to at least one.
The companies that use this type of promotion are hoping that you'll be a long term customer and the money that you'll willingly pay for there goods over this period far outweighs the cost of the free iPod touch.
The second catch is that you have to get 7 of your friends to sign up for a service as well to receive the free gift.
When you consider wide variety of products and services available it won't be hard for anybody to find 7 people interested in at least 1 of the products and services on offer.
