How to Transfer an IRA to an International Bank

    • 1). Meet with a representative from the international bank. Ask whether IRA transfers are accepted at the institution.

    • 2). Obtain a new IRA account adoption agreement. Complete the form, making sure your name, address and contact information matches the information on the IRA statement from your other institution. Information that does not match may be grounds for a transfer rejection or delay.

    • 3). Complete a transfer form that lists where the IRA funds are being transferred from, including the custodian's name, address and account number.

    • 4). Sign and submit both the transfer form and account agreement. Include a copy of the IRA statement to expedite the process.
