- 1). Unplug the Hayward pump and ensure the motor is not receiving power. Unscrew the plumbing unions connecting the pump to the plumbing and pull the pump away.
- 2). Unscrew the four large bolts holding the wet end section of the pump to the motor section with a socket wrench. Pull the motor away from the wet end of the pump.
- 3). Place the new pump motor next to the wet end of the pump with the bolt holes on the motor lining up with the bolt holds on the wet end. Screw the four bolts into place with the socket wrench to reassemble the pump. Place the newly assembled pump near the pool plumbing and connect the pump to the pool's plumbing unions.
