1.
Knowledge (and the ability to look smart).
The only way you can succeed is if you know something.
Whether you know how to write, program or even something basic like make a sock puppet, you can make money.
Your expertise can always be translated to money.
If you try to enter a business without expertise and try to wing it, you will have trouble doing any meaningful work and being recognized for it.
This will limit the amount of money you can make by a lot.
For example, take the cast of Jersey Shore, they attract a lot of viewers and make a lot of money, but there will always be a limit to the amount of money they can make.
Bill Gates, however, can keep producing great products and can probably become even richer than he already is.
This is because, the cast of Jersey Shore does have a talent for marketing themselves on TV, but they have made themselves look stupid, with their petty fights and club antics.
Bill Gates however has really show that he is knowledgeable on the subject of computers and programming, thus giving people confidence in him.
This makes people more likely to invest in him and take part in his business endeavors.
2.
Luck.
Make your own luck.
I can't stress this enough.
When around other people have good posture and dress well.
Be confident and show off your knowledge.
First impressions are everything.
If someone likes you better the first time they see you, there is a higher chance that they will choose you over the competition.
You also need to have confidence in yourself and others.
Keep a positive attitude and wake up every day believing good things will happen to you.
Having a positive attitude will give you a different outlook on life and will help you see opportunities and be creative.
Luck is a reflection of how you see the world.
3.
Creativity.
This isn't a quality that everyone has.
Creativity isn't about trying to make a revolutionary new idea.
It's about finding something that needs to be changed in the world, or realizing that you have knowledge you can share with the world.
Creativity is what separates mediocre brands from great brands, a good product from a bestselling product, an employee from a candidate for CEO.
You may have a lot of business know how, you may have a lot of knowledge in the niche you specialize in, but without creativity, you'll have trouble distinguishing yourself from others.
Do you want to be the one executing orders or the one making the decisions?
