When I think of traffic online I think of search engines, they control the largest amount of traffic on the internet and its pretty hard not to rely on them but not impossible.
Traffic online is nothing more than people that connect to the Internet and visit different web spaces online.
The problem with the internet is that without search engines it would be hard to find anything online, they become the first stop people make online in order to find what they are looking for.
With all these people coming to the search engines to find the right information, it is pretty hard to not rely on them for a piece of the traffic.
One way I have found to not be totally dependent on the search engines is by writing and distributing content in the form of short articles online.
Article directories give you the opportunity to submit short articles and they distribute your articles all across the internet to relevant websites, blogs and any other place you can think of that wants good information on a particular subject or niche.
Once this happens, prospects for your business will find your content online without the help of search engines.
Your content will be exposed to other websites that link to the site that your content is housed on.
Remember to include a link back to your website in your articles which would bring the traffic back to your website.
It is pretty tough not to rely on the search engines but the idea is to find your prospects before they find you.
This will reduce your reliance on search engines as a third party.
