- Individual student portfolios allow teachers to follow each student as he progresses. Organizing this information is vital when giving students a course grade. By having a file folder for each student, they will know that they are important. This folder will document all of their work throughout a class. Teachers can use this information to make sure students are successful in their learning.
- Daily lessons can be posted on a dry-erase board at the beginning of each day. This will act as a checklist to ensure that everything is covered during a class. Don't fall behind schedule because school days are a limited amount of time. When something is completed it can be crossed off the list and the class can move forward. Included on daily lists can be homework review, new material presentation, reading time and class activities.
- As key concepts of a course are covered, make sure students continue to study them. By creating chapter or section outlines for a course, students will have assistance picking out important things to remember for tests and quizzes. Once a concept has been covered by the class, the teacher can create a list that will outline what has been learned. Before exams, teachers can provide this list as a study sheet for students to use as a guide.
- Attendance lists may or may not be provided by the school office.Teachers can also create their own attendance list with more information. Teacher must have parent contact information in the event they would need to update them on the success or failure of a student. Attendance can be physical attendance and participation attendance. If a child has done homework and is prepared and participating in class, she can receive another positive mark by her name. This will show teachers which students are having difficulties or are not meeting expectations.
