- 1). Create a craigslist account. See the link in the "Resources" section of this article to log onto the sign-up page. Enter your email address and type in the verification words.
- 2). Check the email account you used to register for an email from Craigslist.com. Click on the link in the email to be re-directed to a password page. Enter a password for the account and then re-enter it for verification. Click "Submit Password and Log in."
- 3). Review the "Terms of Use" page and click on "I Accept," if you agree. Select the city in which you wish to post an ad from the drop-down menu located in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. Click "Go." Locate the "For Sale" section on the city's page and click on "Cars + Trucks."
- 4). Click on "Post" in the upper right-hand corner of the page, and then click the "cars & trucks-by owner" link to post an ad for a used vehicle. Enter the title of the posting in the box marked " Posting Title," such as the year, make and model of the vehicle you want to sell.
- 5). Enter the details about the used vehicle you are selling in the area marked "Posting Description." You are allowed a large amount of space for information, so provide as much detail as you wish. Some details you may want to include are how many miles the vehicle has, the condition of the interior and exterior and any new parts such as tires.
- 6). Click on "Add/Edit Images" at the bottom of the form to include pictures of the vehicle. Click "Browse" to locate the picture on your computer and then click "Open" in the pop-up window to add the photo to the ad. The photo automatically loads onto the page. Repeat this step to add up to four images. When you are finished, click "Continue" to review the ad and images.
- 7). Clcik "Edit" to make any changes to the ad and then click "Continue." When you are satisfied with the ad, click "Continue" to be redirected to a verification page. Enter the verification words that appear onscreen and click "Continue." Your post should appear on the Craigslist site within about 15 minutes.
