The central term is median if number of items present in the list are odd and if number of items in the list is even then the median is the average of middle two terms. Now, mode it is the term that repeats in the list of the number. It is possible that sometimes their is no mode or sometime more then one modes are also possible. Other term is range, it is the difference between the largest number and the smallest number present in the list.

To understand it in a better way lets take an example:-

2,4, 6

it is a list given to us. In this we have to calculate mean, mode, median and range.

Mean = 2+4+6/3.

=> 12/3,

=> 4

median as the number of items is odd and already arrange in ascending order so no need to do any change simply take the middle term i.e. 4

median= 4

mode; no number is repeating here so no mode is present.

Range= highest term- lowest term

=> 6-2

=> 4.
