Now and then I'll get an e-mail message from someone who wants to know why some people appear to find success with their eBook publishing business quickly, whereas others struggle.
This question is usually being asked by someone who has tried to start an eBook publishing business but have not made much progress.
There are two basic reasons why the vast majority of eBook publishing businesses fail to be successful.
The first reason is because there are no eBooks available to be sold, and the second reason is because whatever eBooks are available to be sold have not been promoted.
Let's break that down a bit further.
You can't make any money as an eBook publisher if you don't have any eBooks.
So go out there and create one, or have one created for you, or buy the rights to one.
Next, nobody will know you have something for sale unless you promote it.
This is really important and something that for some reason people seem to forget.
People who are successful usually have an electronic book and promote it heavily.
There are a lot of details missing from this, but that's the general framework.
Just think about it for a moment...
you can't really have much of a business if you have nothing to sell, or if you don't promote what you do have to sell.
Here's the bottom line: if you want to be successful in the eBook publishing business, you need to focus on product creation and promotion.
