We've all heard variations of this advice before: Posting new, fresh content on a regular basis will bring hordes traffic to your blog.
We are told the search engines love to index and rank new content.
In fact, it sounds this all you have to do to become a successful blogger.
Well I'm here to tell you "they" are a bunch of fibber McGee's...
Back in the ancient times of blogging circa 2003.
(Yes, a year on the Internet seems link centuries in the real world.
) You could publish a new post and that would translate into surefire traffic and high search engine rankings.
That was because there were only a few bloggers running around the world wide web.
Most people had never even heard the word, let alone knew what one was.
It was much easier because there was hardly any competition.
Ah, the good old days.
But, that's not the case anymore.
Depending on who you believe, there are anywhere from 112,000,000 to as many as 200,000,000 blogs out in the blogsphere.
That is a lot more competition than a few short years ago.
For example, today I Googled blogging and it showed 24,854,165 blogs blogging about blogging.
The Competition is fierce these days My point is there is so much competition out there now you cannot rely on just posting new content.
New content is very important, and is what makes a blogs so search engine friendly.
However, just doing this alone will result in your website basically talking to itself.
You have to come up with other strategies to get noticed on the web.
Gone are the days of using one or two techniques to drive traffic to your site.
With more and more blogs coming online everyday it takes more to get the attention of readers.
