- The Blue Elephant Cooking School is centrally located in Bangkok. It is across the street from the Surasak Sky Train system. The local address is 233 South Sathorn Rd, Kwaeng Yannawa, Khet Sathorn, Bangkok 10120, Thailand. If taking a taxi or tuk-tuk to the location, tell the driver 233 South Sathorn Rd. This is a major street and he will most likely know where it is located.
- Class prices vary at the Blue Elephant Cooking School. Single classes are the least expensive, but taking two, three, five, six or seven classes offers savings for taking additional classes. Private classes are offered, but the classes are more expensive. The most expensive class is a 5-day professional class taught by a professional chef. Visit the Blue Elephant website listed in "References" for current class prices.
- There are two different classes throughout the day. The first begins at 8:45 a.m. and lasts until 1:00 p.m., or 13:00, because Thailand generally uses the 24-hour clock. The other class begins at 1:15 p.m., or 13:15, and ends at 4:30 p.m., or 16:30.
- The schedules vary slightly from the morning class to the afternoon class. In the morning students will depart on the sky train toward the morning market. Here the instructor will walk students through purchasing the right fruits, vegetables and spices for the dish they will create later in the day. Upon arriving back at the school, the instructor will prepare the dish the students will later learn how to make. They will also receive a booklet with the recipe for the dish. Once the demonstration has completed, the students try their hands at it. Of course the instructor will help with any questions. And then finally, upon completing the meal, the students will be able to eat their creations. The afternoon class, for the most part, is the same as the first, except they do not go to the market to pick out the ingredients. For this reason, it is highly recommended to attend the morning class.
- The Blue Elephant Cooking School does take reservations, and if you want a guaranteed spot it is a good idea to make one. The Blue Elephant Cooking School reservation request form link can be found in the "Resources" section.
