Many times I will hear people who say they have a hard time exercising because they are always on the road, whether on business or on a vacation.
They say they can't find a gym to workout in.
Does that sound familiar? It's an excuse that people have used for awhile now.
And I say its nonsense.
If you've read any of my other articles regarding exercise, it can be done anywhere.
Heck, even stopping at a rest stop can provide anybody with a few minutes of exercise.
You just have to know how, that's all.
You can lean against your car's hood and do 20 pushups.
From there you can do 50 squats.
Heck, you can even exercise while you are driving.
All you have to do is tighten and release your abdominal muscles a dozen times.
It will work your core muscles out.
It may not be at the same level in burning calories, but it will do some work for your body.
If you are at a motel or hotel and there's no gym, you can go outside and do some walking or running.
You can even do intense interval training by doing sprints at a 20/20 pace.
That means you will do 20 seconds of sprinting and 20 seconds of rest.
Do this between 4-8 intervals.
If you want to train indoors (that means your room), you can do squats and lunges for your legs.
You can incorporate jumping squats or lunges for more intensity.
You can do pushups in a variety of different ways.
For your back, you could grab the door handle of your room and do a lot of rows.
For your abdominal muscles and the rest of your core area, do both front and side planks.
Hold each plank between 30 and 60 seconds.
You can follow that up with leg raises and hip ups for 15 reps each.
End it with V ups.
An old standard workout developed by Charles Atlas uses dynamic tension.
Basically you will go through different movements by tensing your body.
When doing rows, as an example, you would pull your arms back in a rowing motion keeping them tensed through the whole movement.
Do several reps of this.
The rest of your body can be done the same way.
Deep breathing was considered in the old days a vital part of an overall exercise program that has been lost in today's world.
Deep breathing is also known as belly breathing because your belly will expand when it is done properly.
If your shoulders rise when you take a breath in, then that is known as shallow breathing.
Work to incorporate this into your every day routine, okay? Your body will be revitalized due to increased oxygen levels getting into your blood stream.
I just gave you some simple and effective exercise techniques that you can do.
There's many more including Asian arts such as Tai Chi and Chi Gung.
There's no longer an excuse for you not to work out anytime you're away.
