Elvis Costumes - A Great Halloween Idea

Elvis costumes for those of you who would be the King at Halloween. We're talking about the King of rock 'n' roll of course. If you are still debating about who to dress up as this Halloween, and you've done the scary look, then there is plenty of scope dressing up as Elvis.Because he wore so many different styles throughout his career, most of which are not only iconic, but changed as he grew older and more portly. So just pick the decade where Mr Elvis Aaron Presley's stage costume appeals most to you.It would be fairly easy to put an outfit together yourself if you fancied the look from his first movie, Jailhouse Rock. All you would need to lay your hands on for this easy disguise would be a striped tee-shirt and some of your old blue jeans. You could get yourself an Elvis wig, if you don't have enough of your own hair to gel back!Costumes for Halloween is always a difficult decision to make. Do you stick with the old favourites, ghosts, monsters from the black lagoon or our old friend the vampire? With the advent of the many super hero movies doing the rounds over the past few years, there are plenty of costume suggestions amongst them.

Well Thor and Captain America may well be super Avengers, but for a real hero then Elvis is pretty hard to top. Why not have a themed party with all the guests dressing up as the King?

Elvis's career famously ended after many successful years during his time on the stage in Las Vegas. Only the king could carry off the look he favoured in those shows. A white jump suit and lots of glittery rhinestones on his jacket. This costume became something of a trademark for Elvis impersonators. If you can carry a tune, why not take your guitar along to the party, gospel, rock or ballads, Elvis could do it all. We are lucky to have so much vintage film of him performing. My own favourite Elvis period is his army life, G.I. Blues is a favourite film of mine and I love the sound track too.If you have the opportunity to visit the Elvis museum in his homeland of Graceland in Memphis. You will be able to see for yourself some of his amazing show clothes along with some of his many guitars. If you are man enough to try on Elvis's blue suede shoes then my guess is you'll be crowned the king by everyone else at the party.
