How to Ship a Car From New York to Saudi Arabia

    • 1). Check that your vehicle meets the criteria for being shipped to Saudi Arabia. Your vehicle must meet Saudi standards. Vehicles modeled older than 1974 cannot be shipped. The body of your vehicle should not be damaged prior to shipment, and must be free of any previous accidents, including flooding, fire, collision and rollover damage. The steering system should be all original and not modified from the factory installation.

    • 2). Prepare all necessary documents. The name on all documents should be exactly the same as that on your passport. "Make Mark" information -- the country of origin mark ("Made in...") on the car -- should tally with the documents. Provide information about your car, including its make, color, model, year, weight, dimensions, license and serial number, engine and chassis numbers, address of origin, and destination address.

    • 3). Compare prices and services of a few companies for shipping from New York to Saudi Arabia. Online quotes are available at the Web sites of most companies. Check whether the shipping company will look after customs formalities in New York, as well as in Saudi Arabia.

    • 4). Specify the pick up point. You can choose to drive the car to the shipping company warehouse, or arrange for the car to be picked up by the shipping company from the location you specify. The shipping cost will vary accordingly.

    • 5). Fix the shipping date and particulars with the company you select.

    • 6). Prepare the car for transport. Remove all items from the car.

    • 7). Be present in Saudi Arabia at the time of customs clearance of the car. This regulation is mandatory.
