How to Take the Train to Disney

    • 1). Visit the Amtrak website (amtrak.com) and take a look at the "Route Atlas" tool. This shows a map of all the routes operated by Amtrak and the stations served along the way. You'll be able to see where the nearest station is and get an idea of what the journey will involve.

    • 2). Go back to the home page and enter the details for your trip to Disney World. You'll be presented with a selection of options. The trip could involve multiple stopovers and changes and can take up five days if departing from the Northwest. If you live on the East Coast, the trip is relatively simple. Coach tickets are reasonably priced, but your costs will rise if you reserve rooms.

    • 3). Look at the costs and time involved in traveling by train. If you decide the train is for you, book your ticket as soon as your Disney World hotel reservation has been confirmed. Amtrak often offers big discounts for seats booked in advance.

    • 4). Make sure you pack plenty of books, a laptop or anything else that will keep you entertained while you're traveling. If you do not book a room with beds and are a light sleeper, consider packing a face mask and some ear plugs to use while resting in your coach seat.

    • 5). Plan your trip to the train station leaving plenty of time for possible delays. You will want to arrive at least 30 minutes before the planned departure of your train. You should also make sure that you are aware of any stopovers or transfers you need to make en route.

    • 6). Sit back and enjoy your journey to Orlando. At the train station in Orlando, you can take a bus or cab to Disney World.
