Cinema4D 12.
0 was released only a couple of weeks ago and like all high end leading 3D products, the consumer family was waiting with baited breath.
So what's new? Is it truly helpful features, are there annoying reorganizations that make things hard to find? As with most new bundles, it's a little bit of both and speaking of bundles, this will be one of the first differences you will notice in 12.

Previously, where you clicked on 'help->personalize' to see a display of your licensed modules, now your bundle, is 'bundled'.
You simply see Studio12 and it contains whatever modules you purchased.
This was a little curious to me since it's nice to see exactly what extensions you have installed (and licensed) but Cinema support shares that this is part of a trend toward simpler management.
As you begin to tour the new release you will see several menu differences and one significant change is the bundling of dynamics, thinking particles, hair under a new menu item, 'Simulation'.
You will now see a menu item for Python and yes, Python is now bundled with Cinema4D.
If you are interested, there is a great tutorial on the Cineversity site introducing the Python management layout, console, logging system, and how to create a Python layout blending all these windows tools together.
CS tools doesn't work for you? If you already have CS tools and tried copying the OLX menu plugin from 11.
5 to 12.
0, it doesn't seem to work.
What did work for me was downloading the newer OLX pluging, installing it in the same fashion, and setting the same path definitions.
Basically downloading the new version and following the exact steps as before let me add the CS tools menu icon to 12.

As far as new goodies in the bag, dynamics is definitely the winner.
I intend to share some of my discoveries and provide tutorial downloads at my site but a couple of Cinema stars are out way ahead of me and I strongly recommend the Greyscale Gorilla's website with links to "What's New in 12.
0" and the C4D Cafe with tutorials and example projects directed specifically to the new dynamics available in version '12.
0'.
Addition of new dynamics including motor, spring, and hinges opens a new window of creation and animation.
From my perspective these additional dynamics invite us to include mechanical physics in addition to wind blowing and gravity pulling.
These new additions let us act upon things a bit more intentionally and they clearly have the expanded definition detail that will spawn new factories in Cinema 12.
