Men have a common goal and one of them is to survive. And when survival is being talked about, a branch of this common goal sprouts out like a cure. And speaking of cure, yes! That's what we're talking about here! People, young or old should be vaccinated against influenza.
Influenza can be quite the killer if not prevented or treated properly. Since the bug could generate into pneumonia, it's a pretty serious case if left neglected and that's why our good medical team provides us with flu vaccine in order to counter these grueling ailments. Let's face it, no one wants to get sick, especially not in times like this when money is very very hard to come by.
That aside, cold season hits at about October, so being prepared will probably save you the trouble. During this period, the body becomes susceptible to the cold virus, not a good thing especially to those who have weak bodies or to those that are situated in places with rapidly changing climate and worse, unhealthy environment. In order to prevent other sicknesses from branching from the bug itself, shots are provided. There are even times when the health sector of the government gives free shots in order to save countless lives from a possible death.
Still, there are two kinds of viral shots that can be given to both adult and child. The first one is the traditional flu vaccine. Believe it or not, it's a virus. But it's not the live one which therefore it cannot cause a disease. It's an inactivated virus that is administered with the use of a needle. Usually these are the shots commonly given.
And then, there comes the second kind of flu vaccine. Unlike the first one, the virus that is administered to the body is alive. At times it might cause runny nose, congestion and even fatigue. But of course this kind of shot is only recommended for non pregnant women, healthy individuals no younger than 2 years of age and not older than 49. Despite it being a live viral contingent, it's weakened so the side effects mention above is not that dire.
Annual doses can be taken for those people who want to lessen possibility of getting the bug. The persons who should be taking them the most though are those with complications that make them prone to the sickness being mentioned. Usually people who are prone to pneumonia and are at the age of fifty should probably go see the doctor for their medications. But even if you're not a fifty year old person, be sure to visit the doctor's clinic too! Remember, prevention is better than cure.
