In present world, all things are uncertain; how any company would come up after a disaster has occurred that ruined up every computer there! There has been a lot of research and surveys that suggest over 90 per cent of businesses that fall back of their data for 10 or more days ended up charging for bankruptcy within the subsequent year.
Surprisingly, the initial response to bankruptcy statement is, "this won’t happen to us for sure!" However, the research opposes that because 20 per cent of small to medium-sized business would encounter some kind of disasters, every 5 year that causes loss of useful data. This could be anything from a cyclone or a flood, to a sudden power failure or a leaking pipe or air-conditioning system that drops onto data saving servers, to a bug in the software, which makes the servers to malfunction.
The question arises what is the best method for ensuring the data is nothing but keeping some way for disaster recovery. Disaster recovery is a proper way to save data and is also easily accessible to the company in emergency. As of now, the common practice is backing up servers and other essential information to store online or on tapes. Every company does this either by having its own processes or hires some firm that provides disaster recovery system. Online backup is also an option that small sized or medium sized companies prefer.
Online or remote backup offers many of the same benefits as tape backup, at a fraction of the cost, since tape drive and tapes no more have to be bought or setup. In addition, the company does not have to bother if the offsite storage is secure enough. Remote or most of the online backup systems offer backup in various locations. Therefore, if the company has a backup on the south coast and a backup on the north - the likeliness of anything mishappenings to the data is almost equal to nothing.
Disaster is unstoppable and no one can handle it. The only thing that is in our hand is to save ourselves in the best possible way. When it is all about losing the data due to disaster both; manmade or natural, it is always better to have a secure place where important files, folders and other material can be kept. This will save company from getting in loss as it is very difficult to recover all the data made with efforts since years.
