- 1). Locate the four quarterly dividend statements released by the company in which you own stock. You can often find this information on a corporation's website; stock information is also available on various news sites.
- 2). Add the four quarterly dividends. For example, if you own Microsoft stock and the four quarterly dividends were 16 cents, 23 cents, 9 cents and 31 cents, you would add these numbers to get a total of 79 cents. This is the amount that one share of stock pays out per year.
- 3). Multiply the number you calculated in Step 2 by the number of shares of stock you own. For example, if the four quarterly dividends equals 79 cents and you own 500 shares of stock, your annual dividend would be $395.
