- 1). Find the button you would like to use. Search for an image, making sure that it is a .PNG or a .GIF, and that there are no white edges. PNG and GIF filetypes allow transparency, so that when the image is placed into the website, only the button shows.
- 2). Upload the image to your website. You can do this by going to your cPanel at your Web host and clicking "File Manager" or you can use an FTP application. Place the image file in the root of your domain, or in an "Images" folder if you have already created one.
- 3). Navigate to your WordPress Dashboard and click "Appearance," and then "Widgets." Drag the widget titled "Text: Arbitrary Text or HTML" to the sidebar. It will open automatically, showing a large text box.
- 4). Type the following into the text box, replacing "domain.com/image.png" with your own domain path and Facebook button image, and change "profilename" in the link to your own profile name:
<a href="/links/?u=http://facebook.com/profilename" target="_blank"><img src="http://domain.com/image.png"></a> - 5). Click "Save" at the bottom of the widget box. Then visit the site and refresh it if it was already open. Your new Facebook button should appear.
