  Among the popular beaches on Florida's panhandle, the quiet and relaxing Mexico Beach offers beautiful weather, clean beach fronts and a complete lack of high rise buildings. However, even though the town refrains from the large resort complexes, a number of lodging options still remain including RV campgrounds, beach house rentals and most popular, the privately owned beach hotels and inns.
  
  

El Governor Motel

• The El Governor Motel offers 120 rooms with private balconies that over look the Gulf of Mexico and the beach front. These rooms are not simply standard guest accommodations, but rather efficiencies with a kitchenette that includes a full-sized stove, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and sink. The rooms also include cable television and either a King-size bed or two double beds.
  
  Along with a private stretch of sand, the motel also maintains an outdoor pool and patio area, complete with an outdoor bar. Across the street the motel offers a campground for guests traveling by RV.
  
  The many dining establishments near the motel include popular restaurants such as Joe Mama's Wood Fired Pizza, Ruby Rumrunners and Killer Seafood, and for dessert the town offers the popular ice cream shop Scoops Up.

Buena Vista Motel

• The Buena Vista Motel offers standard guest rooms, but includes within them a microwave, full-size refrigerator and cable television as well as wireless Internet access. The motel sits right on the beach where guests are just steps away from a private beach and the refreshing Gulf of Mexico waters. The motel is also pet friendly, allowing well-behaved furry friends to join the vacation.
  
  The motel lies within walking distance of Sharon's Cafe, famous for there Happy Face pancakes and near other area restaurants including Toucan's Restaurant, Ruby Rumrunners and Mango Marley's.

Driftwood Inn

• The Driftwood Inn offers efficiency style rooms with complete with a fully equipped kitchen, large living space with a dining table and cable television. On the back deck of the inn are grills for outdoor cooking, picnic areas, lounging chairs and a private beach along the Gulf of Mexico. The Inn also provides private cottages and houses to rent for families and larger groups such as bridal parties.
  
  An on-site gift shop sells postcards, trinkets, t-shirts and other collectibles and souvenirs. Among the restaurants near the Inn are Foody's, which specializes in homestyle cuisine, and Regan's Pub & Oyster Bar
