Digital Photo Editing - A Whole New Range of Possibilities

Digital Photos have opened up a whole new world, enabling us to 'touch up' our treasured memories, remove flaws to make us look better or even create outlandish effects for a bit of fun.
The days of waiting until your film was processed to see how your photos turned out, and then being stuck with what you had, are well and truly in the rear view mirror.
These days, you can crop out unwanted items/people from your pictures, adjust skin tone, change colours and generally do more with a photo after it is taken than you ever could by adjusting the camera settings in the first place.
There are numerous photo editing software programs on the market these days, ranging from the free basic systems, up to top shelf systems for hundreds of dollars.
From restoring your old photos, changing backgrounds, black and white or selective colourisation, or giving yourself a pictorial makeover, the options open to us since the advent of digital photography are endless.
No more red eye, or the embarrassing guy pulling faces in the back of your once in a lifetime shot in front of one of the seven wonders of the world - simply edit them out and have great memories which look their best.
It makes me wonder how some of the great photographers of the past must feel, when they had nothing but their camera settings, a good eye and loads of patience to produce the shots that made history.
We are blessed to be able to manipulate our most basic photos to produce pictures that, while some argue as to their legitimacy, can be nothing short of spectacular.
If you want to be able to clean up some of your old shots, dabble around with airbrushing to remove a few years:) or even extend to producing some fantastic images to blown and print for your walls, I suggest exploring some of the available systems - the options are endless, and some of the results are amazing.
