According to Michelle Higgins of "The New York Times," Dubai isn't typically associated with budget travel. Its lavish "seven-star" resorts can cost anywhere from $2,000 upward per night. You can actually find indoor skiing and palm-shaped, man-made islands here. There are, however, some accommodations for the budget traveler, if you know where to look. - The Ibis World Trade Center in Dubai, only a 15-minute drive from the airport, has rooms available from just under $70 a night. The hotel is connected to the International Exhibition Center, the largest International complex in the Middle East, according to its website. The center boasts two restaurants and bars and is located near several historic monuments, including Dubai Museum and Heritage Village. A cultural center, a zoo, and several parks are also nearby.
