Travel & Places Bed & Breakfasts

Bed and Breakfasts Are Everywhere

Bed and breakfasts are scattered all over the world and you will have no problem finding one especially if you are travelling through the United States of America, Canada or somewhere within Europe.
Bed and breakfasts are usually a lot smaller than hotels and they are also a lot more personal.
Some can have more than 20 guests, whereas smaller B&B's may only be able to have 5 or 10 guests at any one time.
Many bed and breakfast establishments are houses which have been converted for this purpose.
If you are thinking of staying in a bed and breakfast while on holiday, make sure you book in advance.
Many of the popular bed and breakfasts book up extremely quickly, especially at peak holiday times, so make sure you ring or book online.
Bed and breakfasts have been around for a long time.
Travelers in the olden times would pass by and stay at inns and private houses for a place to rest for the night and to fill up on food and drink.
Of course when a traveler stayed at someone else private home for the night, it was usually arranged before hand and they would stay within their rank.
A nobleman would only stay with other noblemen or highly ranked associates and so forth.
The term bed and breakfast is that because only breakfast was served when staying there for a night.
Of course, things may be a little different now and you may get the full days meals included.
You may have to pay extra or per meal, check with the bed and breakfast you are staying out for these details.
All bed and breakfasts will have to have health and safety certificates and fire escape routes, so they will more than likely be changed to accommodate this.
All bed and breakfasts have a kitchen but the guests are not normally allowed to use it for personal use.
