- 1). Turn the Jacuzzi hot tub's power switch to the "Off" position, if it is not already there. Tape over the switch with a strip of duct tape to prevent anyone from casually turning it on. Open the side compartment at the bottom of the tub. Twist the water valves clockwise to stop the flow of water.
- 2). Remove the drain plug or plugs -- depending on the model -- so that the water can drain out of the tub. Leave the tub alone until all of the water has drained out.
- 3). Close the drain plugs. Twist the water valves counterclockwise to allow the water to flow again. Close the panel.
- 4). Twist the knobs of the tub's faucets counterclockwise. Twist the knobs clockwise until resistance is felt once the tub has filled with water to the depth suggested in the owner's manual. Remove the tape from over the switch.
- 5). Pour the hydrogen peroxide solution from the jug into a measuring cup, based on 1/4 cup per 100 gallons of water -- using the number of gallons in the tub as suggested in the owner's manual.
- 6). Press the "On" switch to start the tub's motor. Let the water circulate in the tub for a half hour or so before turning the motor off.
