Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) causes condylomata acuminate or venereal warts, commonly known as genital warts.
These warts are generally found around the genital area including anus, cervix, penis, rectum, scrotum, vulva and vagina.
They vary in shape and size.
Fortunately, several genital wart remedies are available which can help cure this disease.
But before discussing these remedies, it is worthwhile to know about the general symptoms of it.
Mostly, these warts are accompanied by itching or a feeling of burning around the genital area.
They make intercourse painful and may even cause bleeding.
Bumps of various colors, including red, grey or pink, may be present around the genitals.
The infected area seems to be more moist than the surrounding regions.
Abnormal vaginal bleeding or prolonged vaginal discharge is also effects of genital warts.
This virus can exist in a person without showing any symptoms.
In that case, a close medical examination of the genital skin is the only way to diagnose the presence of genital warts.
Though these warts require a specialized physician to suggest proper medication, some home-based genital wart remedies can be used to find quick relief.
Some of them are mentioned below: •Applying oil containing vitamin E on the infected skin may be helpful.
It is more useful if some crushed raw garlic is put over it.
The warts should then be covered, may be with a tape.
The warts will drop in a week or so.
•Cover some onion slices with salt and let them stand overnight.
Extract juice from these slices and apply it on the affected area till the warts are gone.
Meanwhile, you can also apply juice of figs' stem thrice a day.
Use a cotton ball to apply vinegar to the affected area.
•Sap from milkweed plant can help your body eliminate the virus that causes genital warts.
This sap can be collected easily by cutting off the leaf from a shoot and putting a small container before the dripping shoot.
The pure sap might be too strong for your skin.
It is better to dilute it by 10% with a quality lotion, containing aloe and vitamin E.
Recommended dose is twice a day for two weeks.
•Hydrogen peroxide is one of the useful genital wart remedies.
Apply it with a cotton ball every time you go to the bath room.
Though it might sting a bit on the other areas, but the warts will surely fall off.
•Oil of thuja and tea tree can also be useful in treating warts.
These oils are quite powerful and should be used very carefully.
You can also reduce the irritation caused by genital warts if you eat diet rich in folic acid and beta-carotene.
Fruits and vegetables having orange, yellow or red color are also recommended as a diet, including radish, mango, squash and tomato, etc.
Dark green and leafy vegetables are also helpful.
You need to take some precautions to make your genital warts remedies more effective.
Cigarettes and oral contraceptives can increase the harm.
To avoid transmission of this virus to your partner, condoms are highly recommended.
