- 1). Try on different nose clips to find what feels most comfortable. Nose clips are usually made of either metal or plastic with a latex or silicone covering.
- 2). Place the curved part of the nose clip over the bridge of your nose. Push the ends against your nostrils until they are completely closed.
- 3). Pick a nose clip that isn’t too big or too small. If the clip is too big, it can fall off in the water or create drag. If it’s too small, it can hurt your nose. The clip should be just tight enough that neither water nor air can flow in or out of your nose.
- 4). Pinch your nose and remove the nose clip when done swimming.
- 5). Wash with tap water and secure in a dry container to extend the life of your nose clip.
