In this final article in my series on how to find your niche I will show you how to bring all the pieces together to be able to clearly identify and describe your business niche in the form of a purpose statement.
You will find this purpose statement very useful when you do your marketing as you will basically just expand it and talk about each part in more detail.
This statement will also help you when you are communicating directly with potential customers so that you can quickly and easily tell them what you have to offer so that those for whom you are a good fit will want to know more.
However before you get to that stage there is one more task to do to be clear about who you are going to serve with your business.
In the previous article you wrote down descriptions of the people who are most likely to want and need your services or products.
The last step is to be sure that you have picked a group of people who you really want to work with.
So, for example, your business niche idea could help a range of age groups but deep down you know that you wouldn't feel comfortable working with teenagers but would rather work with a more mature group.
Be honest with yourself who would you most like to work with and what character traits, values and circumstances would they have ideally.
In part 4 of this series I encouraged you to try out and come up with a purpose statement using the following structure: My purpose is to help people to...
by...
I want you to now use the ideas that you have come up with to replace the word people with a short phrase that captures who your target market is.
So if you had to sum up this group of your ideal customers in three words what would they be? Just as before I strongly recommend that you do this daily for about a week to make sure your purpose statement really describes the business you want to run, the changes you want to make in the lives of others and the people you most want to help.
Now with passion and determination start to take action to seek out these people and to create products and services tailored to meet their needs.
Focus on your desire to make a difference and remember that there are lots of people out there who need what you have to offer whenever you come up against obstacles and you will see your business grow.
