• Nizwa is located in the interior of Oman, a country southeast of Saudi Arabia. It is one of the oldest cities in the country, and used to be the capital in the sixth and seventh centuries. The city is surrounded by mountains, and tourists are drawn to the area for the large souqs (markets) and historical sites. • The Falaj Daris Hotel is just minutes outside of Nizwa and offers 55 rooms that have been updated to include many modern amenities, like air-conditioning and satellite TV. Room and laundry services also are available. Handicapped accessible and non-smoking rooms can be requested. On-site facilities include a playground, gardens, two outdoor pools and a children's pool, as well as a fitness center and steam room. A pool bar and lounge offer some of the in-house dining choices, but the main restaurant, Al Fanar, offers an a la carte menu and views of the pool and garden.

Majan Guest House

• The Majan Guest House has single and double beds available for guests. Rooms are decorated simply but amenities include Internet, air-conditioning, refrigerators, private bathrooms and coffee stations. The guest house is minutes outside of Nizwa on the road to Firq. There is no in-house restaurant but the house is close to Nizwa's restaurants, as well as several local sites, like Nizwa's Fort and Heritage Site at Falaj Daris.
