They are useful in every way. For a romantic candle lit dinner, a good atmosphere when taking a relaxing warm bath, a gift for a friend, or beautifying our rooms, houses, restaurants, and more. So how about making it ourselves? It's a fun, wonderful activity that we can enjoy and it lets us express our creativity. We get to decide how it looks, and how it smells (if you like scented candles.) Plus it gives more thought and meaning when we give gifts to our loved ones made by our own hands. We get a chance to share our creativity to the special people in our hearts. Or we could even start a new business on it. So, how do we make them?

Alright, first things first, prepare the equipments. You don't need a lot of equipment to start making homemade candles. You can just look around your house for some of the equipments. The few basic supplies that are needed are:

* Wax (bought at a store or you can use the used candles)

* Mold or container we can use for molding

* Heat source to melt the wax

* Wicks

* Dyes (if desired)

* Fragrances (if desired) - which can be your perfumes also.

Once you have prepared the equipments, we can now start the fun! How to make homemade candles? - It's easy.

* To begin, spread a newspaper on the area you are going to work on so that it will be easier to clean later on.

* First, melt your wax on the heat source. It must be double-boiled. You can do this by placing a large pot with half-filled water on a burner over a low-medium heat, place the melter in the water, and then gradually place pieces of wax into the melter. Add the dyes and fragrances if you wish once the wax has melted.<br

* Cut the wicks two (2) inches taller than you want the candle to be. Then attach it to the hole at the bottom of the mold. Attach the other end to a pencil or something similar to it over the top of the mold, centering the wick.

* Lift the melter by the handle and slowly pour the melted wax into the mold.

* Let it cool for twelve (12) hours then refrigerate for another twelve (12) hours. Then your candle is ready to be removed from the mold.

Voila! You have your very own self made candle! And if you like, you can add glitters too to make the appearance more beautiful. Now that you know how to make homemade candles, you can share it with your friends and family. It would be a fun activity if you do it in groups. Once done, you can give your homemade candles as a gift. What better gift than something made by us, right? So, enjoy the new hobby and share it friends.
