- 1). Unplug the hot tub from the electrical outlet and/or turn off the circuit breaker that feeds the electricity to the hot tub.
- 2). Drain the water from the hot tub. Open the drain at the bottom of the tub, then siphon or hand pump the water from the unit. Use a shop vac to remove any standing water in the bottom of the hot tub.
- 3). Locate the heater for the hot tub unit and remove the panel. Turn off the heater. Replace the cover to the area.
- 4). Plug the hot tub in and/or turn on the circuit breaker. Turn on the unit for 30 seconds to remove any water from under the seats. Unplug and/or turn off the circuit breaker.
- 5). Open and remove any filters from the unit. Soak up the water in the canisters. Take the filters into the house. Clean and store the filters during the winter months.
- 6). Trip the GFCI on the hot tub, which is the ground fault circuit interrupter.
- 7). Open the panel to the water pump. Remove the lines from the water pump unit.
- 8). Place the nozzle of the air compressor in the opening of one line. Turn on the air compressor and blow the water in the lines into the hot tub. Repeat the process with each line. Do not reconnect the lines until the following summer.
- 9). Loosen any couplers to the heater housing and water pump. Remove the bleed valves and drains.

Remove any excess water in the bottom of the hot tub with a shop vac. Place the shop vac end on each jet opening and remove any excess water. - 11
Wash the inside of the tub with soap and water. Dry completely and cover with the hot tub cover.
