- 1). Launch OpenOffice and click the "File" menu.
- 2). Mouse over "Wizards" and select "Web Page" to open the Web Wizard.
- 3). Choose "Default" from the "Settings" drop-down menu, or select a previously used setting if you've used the wizard before. Click "Next."
- 4). Select the "Add" button to choose documents to attach to your Web page. These are files that will be linked and available as downloads on your site.
- 5). Click "Next" to choose a site layout. Click "Next" again and customize the layout settings for your page, like whether to include a copyright notice or author name. Clicking "Next" moves you to the Style section.
- 6). Use a preset style from the list, and choose a background image and icon set for your navigation buttons, if desired.
- 7). Enter metadata on the next screen. This includes a title, website description and copyright notice. You can also leave the fields blank. Click "Next."
- 8). Preview the website with the "Preview" button. It won't look polished because there's no text or graphics yet. In the wizard, select a folder to which to publish the page. Select or deselect the Save Settings box to save your preferences for future use.
- 9). Click "Finish." Click "File," "Open" to open the file you just created. It is named "index.html."

Wait for the page to open. Click in the page to enter text. Click "Insert," "From File" to insert graphics. You can also add tables and graphs or change the theme. Click the picture frame icon in the menu bar to open the "Theme" menu. - 11
Press "Ctrl" and "S" or click the "Save" icon in the menu bar to save the document before closing. When you upload your website, remember to include any graphics and files to which you linked. OpenOffice puts all your elements in the same folder with your page.
