Middle School Summer Activities in Atlanta

    Atlanta History Center Summer Camp

    • The middle school camp offered by the Atlanta History Center is for students entering grades 7-9. Campers explore the past and the world around them through activities in the Atlanta History Center summer camp. Campers play games, listen to stories, create crafts and participate in outdoor activities and interactive exhibitions. Themes change every week, and campers learn through hands-on, immersive activities through the programs available all summer long. Summer camp runs from Monday through Friday, and fees are based on full- and half-day camps.

    ZooMobile Outreach

    • ZooMobile Outreach is one of the programs offered by Zoo Atlanta. ZooMobile Outreach offers specialized programs for kids in pre-K to 12th grade. A trained educator presents a program with live animals so students can learn facts about the animals, as well as participate in activities. The presenter comes to your location, and the program allows students to form a connection to animals and to learn about conservation. In "Creature Connection," the program for middle school students, young adults discuss the balance of species in the food web by examining animal skulls and learning about predator and prey relationships. The zoo offers the program from Monday through Friday, year-round. Each session lasts for 45 minutes, and you can make reservations six weeks in advance. The zoo charges a fee per session.
