- The transcript of judgment in most court jurisdictions contains the name of the party declaring bankruptcy, the name of the creditor to whom money is owed, the amount of interest earned on the debt and case identification numbers.
- Creditors must file transcripts of judgment for the court to order payment of the debt. If no debt is recoverable at the time of filing, the transcript of judgment is used to place a creditor's lien on the property of the debtor. The lien may hurt the debtor's credit rating.
