Bali has a wet season and a dry season. The wet season, according to Indo.com, is roughly from September to February, while the dry season is from March to August. - Balinese Dancers
"Rainy season," however, doesn't mean that it rains all the time. It simply rains more, and these tropical downpours typically last an hour or less in the afternoons. - The dry season has much less rain, and it's also a little hotter on Bali. The lower humidity can make this a more comfortable time for a visit.
- The tip-top peak season for visitors coming to Bali is around Christmas and New Year's, when a lot of Australians visit. Book your rooms far ahead of time; expect most things to be more expensive during the peak season.
- Other crowded times of the year are July to September, when a lot of Europeans have their vacations, and Easter and Chinese New Year. Low season is the rest of the year, when travel in Bali is a lot easier.
- Another factor in timing your visit is the calendar of festivals. These include the boisterous Melasti (usually in March), which is followed by the day of quiet called Nyepi.
