How to Extract a Playlist From an iPod

    • 1). Press the "Play" button on your iPod to begin playing a random song or press the center button over the "Music" tab and locate a specific song.

    • 2). Press and hold the center button until a menu appears on the iPod screen. Glide your finger over the iPod's click wheel to highlight "Start Genius" on the menu and press the center button to select it.

    • 3). Select "Save Playlist" to store the Genius-created playlist on your iPod and insert the iPod cable into the dock port on the bottom of the iPod.

    • 4). Insert the opposite cable end into the computer's empty USB port. The iTunes program will start once the iPod is detected and will automatically transfer the playlist from your iPod to your music library. The playlist can be found under the Genius section in the iTunes sidebar.

    • 5). Select "Controls" at the top of the iTunes menu, and select "Eject iPod" to remove the iPod from your computer once the playlist transfer is complete.
